We ended our homeowner’s association along with all of the exclusionary zoning. About a third of the residents quit paying HOA dues and they just kept going to court. Finally all of the board members resigned and the judge declared that the HOA no longer exists. Now people are free to place motor homes, travel trailers or any size home they wish on their residential lots.

I’d happily stop paying rent and move somewhere cheaper, but I like to surf. If you are renting ANYTHING then you are getting screwed. Imagine what your life would be like if you didn’t have to pay rent or a mortgage. You should be able to just own something and pay some property taxes, say less than $1000/year.

But the Main issue is The majority of people that live here are on SS or low income so that prevents them from being able to move out of this situation to live a better life. How about owning you lot and just paying some property taxes and NOT paying anything per month? If we had a free and fair housing market then you’d have that option.
More people nowadays prefer to live in mobile homes than ever before. The benefits of living in a manufactured home include ample space, energy-efficiency, and affordable pricing, among other things. Since you will know your full costs of living prior to moving to the trailer park, you will have a much easier time budgeting and staying on track financially.
I think you should be able to buy any size residential lot you wish and place any home you wish on that residential lot and then just pay some property taxes. The exclusionary zoning preventing you from doing just that needs to end. We ALL have a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Freedom doesn’t mean the freedom to take away someone else’s freedom.
